BARBARA HAGEN studied composition at Louisiana State University with Dr. Kenneth Klaus and graduated from Lamar University with a degree in music theory and composition.
She has taught piano lessons for years and has played viola in the Beaumont Symphony Orchestra under Dr. Joseph Carlucci. In addition, Barbara has played for various Church pagents and played in the Lamar University Chamber Orchestra under Diane Wittry.
She has judged various piano competitions, specifically: The annual Concerto Contest sponsored by Lamar University and the National Federation of Music Clubs Festival sponsored by the Beaumont Music Teachers Association. She has also judged the piano competition sponsored by The World Piano Pedagogy Conference.
Barbara was the 1994 national winner of the composition competition sponsored by The National Federation of Music Clubs for her "FIRST SET FOR BRASS QUINTET". She is listed in the book of Who's Who.
