Carol Olson
Carol Olson is a free lance french horn player, teacher and composer living in Portland , OR. Throughout her professional career she has written, adapted and arranged music for a variety of brass groups as well as for middle and high school band. Her original band music and arrangements have been performed in concert by Portland middle and high school bands. Many of her arrangements and adaptations for horn trio were performed by Amethyst Brass for “Young Audiences” presentation of “Horn Tales”. Her brass quartets and horn ensembles have been performed by middle school students at district solo and ensemble contests in the Portland metro area.
Carol has taught music in both public and private school and continues to teach private students, coach small brass ensembles and volunteer for the band program at a local middle school. She remains active as a performer in the Portland area. Carol received her BA from Washington University in St. Louis, MO and received a Master Of Music degree from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, OR.
